We are many that collect and appreciate Czech glass but we musn't overlook the fine porcelain and pottery that was made at the same time period in Czechoslovakia. I had uploaded some Pottery items in the past but this "purple tiger stripes" Porcelain bowl caught my eye at a flea market recently. I had seen a similar flaming red stripes example from this manufacturer but I really like the purple iridescent effect that this colour offers. It measures 8 1/2" by 3 1/2" and has a mottled rainbow iridescent inside finish and a black line rim. It is back-stamped with the Moritz Zdekauer mark from Altrohlau, Czechoslovakia and the CM-R mark that shows that it was made after 1909 when the C.M Hutschenreuter company took over the company. The mark was apparently used until the late 1930's.
Wow, would describe it well. So very modern in design for a piece of such vintage!
