Out of the Los Angeles area, this is an unusual dated Jan 1972 7up Wooden Crate with psychedelic paint. I have not found another in my internet search which leads me to (I think) two choices. The painting is good but not perfect. If this was a national campaign they would not have the rough painted edges on top & bottom. So perhaps this was authorized by the Los Angeles Bottling arm of 7up, for a regional if not urban promotion. OR - maybe this was just a California hippie's idea of a really cool record storage case. Not sure if I will ever find the answer... but filling it with period record albums sure works for me.

Very cool. I collect 7up bottles & memorabilia, 7up never did anything like that on there bottle crates. Some hippie must have painted it like that. That is a very cool bottle crate though in more than just the freaky paint job. The bubbles are in a 3-1-3 pattern & only the Los Angeles bottling plant did it that way. Nice!

Thanks iggy - it wasn't done professionally enough, so i wondered. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge.

And MacddyRico - yeah, there is a good chance of that ha ha.
