Hello I have this old stone carving which looks like it was attached to something as it has a hole through it, and the dirt build up left behind makes me think this must be very old maybe antique and was attached to some kind of precious metal that has been removed for the money. Might help if someone knows more about the stone I guess.
Thanks blunder

Seen somthing similar described as jade ?
Antique Chinese. .?
Or Japanese, it is a netsuke, worn on a robe-
-I just bought one yesterday in bone,
with an "Immortal figure with scrolls, etched and signed and hand carved for my older grandson who is in college in 3rd year Japanese--he wants to work there. He speaks and writes Japanese--I was with him over the weekend--he said "For my birthday I'd like a Netsuke"--I said" what" so he writes the name on paper and gives it to me...After looking at it, I finally said "Alec==your handwriting is awful" and he smiled and said--"it's in Japanese! Ha ha." ( Very nice collectible!) I have seen some over $1,000 000, all they way down to $10.00.
Thanks postcard for the great help and info I have heard about netsuke, before and I did wonder but had never had one before and also thought most was made from ivory,I didn't even realise this was jade and no one on here knew anything till you showed up, I only realised it might be jade when I stumbled across some antique Chinese sculptures that had the same stone and was described as jade. I would like to see the one that sold for 1000000 LOL.
Thanks ho2
