    Firma C.A. Schack Bürgel/Germany ca. 1900-1915

A piece from my collection of the company of my great grandfather. This was one of four major factories in the period between 1877 and 1930. Very much was exported to the USA.

Carl Schack was a friend of Carl Gebauer - also this company has exported very much to the USA.

Great stuff. I have a number of Gebauer drip glaze vases currently and have had several Schack vases in the past, but was never able to identify the maker until now. Glazes are much more complex than Gebauer's, my favorite had a deep blue crystalline glaze with a metallic copper and verdegris overdrip. I always suspected Belgian or German origin, but ended selling them as unidentifed art pottery. Two of the examples you've posted are identical forms.

Thanks so much for adding pics of some of your collection, a 20 year + mystery is solved.

This makes me happy that I can contribute to solving a puzzle. Do you still have photos of the vases that belong to Schack. Or maybe from Gebauer stuff. I would be very interested in that. I would like to make the company Schack a list, which pieces still exist or also gave in earlier times. Many Thanks
