PHOTO #2 Isn't this conveyance too long, and too full.? I have never rode in one or seen one that I can remember. A Dated 1934 post card, unsent.. e...

    2. PostCardCollector PostCardCollector, 7 years ago
OMG! Enlarge!! 2 Times--If you look upper side left area see the two heads with no place for a body to stand!!! Where are they??? EEEkK!! How is that possible? Call Zak Bagens again!
    3. buckethead, 7 years ago

    6. fortapache fortapache, 7 years ago
I will guess there is another set of tracks parallel to this with a car that goes up when this one goes down.
    7. PostCardCollector PostCardCollector, 7 years ago
      GHOST ALERT!
***Now---whatever are those ghostly "faces" seen in photo #2--No place for bodies to stand--Edge of left side upper area. That is freaky and unnerving and cannot be explained!
Photo #2. Enlarge it--and see for yourself..
    8. SpiritBear, 7 years ago
Or there is a porch there and people are leaning over the rail hoping to get in the photo. I see nothing wrong with it.
    9. pw-collector pw-collector, 7 years ago
The two boys on the left are probably standing on the loading platform waiting for the next ride. The track probably extends past the back of the building and as the passengers board, the ride moves forward for the next seat until it is full.
      Just an old man's thoughts,
      Dave

I think she is standing below deck and helping to control ride or operate it . Or on loading dock agree with Dave

Well, too bad the photo was the size it is cutting off more than the side I need to see.
      Ha Ha!

Thanks! That was a great tour of roller-coastrt "world". I think my photo needs more investigation. And thanks so much for the nice comment, and that link!!
I have to say--I would never have gotten on that thing!
    15. buckethead, 7 years ago
No...I think they are still disembodied heads. More fun that way :)
    16. pw-collector pw-collector, 7 years ago
4th seat from the front, in the ground is a small sign post. Unfortunately it faces toward the tram, so I can't read it..
    17. PostCardCollector PostCardCollector, 7 years ago
This whole entire place is bizarre as far as it looks to me
    18. fortapache fortapache, 7 years ago
I will stick with incline railroad or funicular. Note how the seats are at 90 degrees in relation to the photo as if they are on level ground. If this was a roller coaster the seats would be in a 90 degree relation to the car.
Everyone is wearing their hats that would be blown off at a high rate of speed.
This car is controlled by a cable seen in the lower right of photo 2.
It slowly goes up and down a steep hill.

Yes indeed bobby725 it is the same rock! Well done for finding the pic.
    20. PostCardCollector PostCardCollector, 7 years ago
OH Buckethead--I do so wish they were the disembodied heads. I have got to find something real creepy and put it on soon so we can have fun!!

My God! It came down a huge nountain side - Part of a RR system-Please see the site.I just bought a picture from eBay and as soon as it comes I will add it here.
    23. fortapache fortapache, 7 years ago
Looks like there is a second set of tracks as I predicted in my first reply. Looks like it is gone now which is sad.
    24. PostCardCollector PostCardCollector, 7 years ago
Yes that was some tragedy that happened--but it was up and running a long time!! I was astounded at the height it attained and the trip down was only for the strong of heart for sure I was wondering if kids were even allowed on it.None of mine would have been allowed on it!

Yes fortapache--No one else commented about the track seen at left. I am still blithering over the whole idea of this--and at such a fantastic site that I have never heard of this seems odd, and I have been to Estes Park!!( When I was 12, and it was in full swing then I think., why was this not a part our trip, or at least mentioned then? This attraction escaped my life entirely

definitely Manitou Springs, CO. I have several original, family pictures with them riding the incline, or whatever they called it.
