My most recent find on an Internet Online Yard Sale. I couldn't believe it when I saw it! A 1940's - 1950's porcelain enamel top table WITH pull out leaves.
The most interesting thing about it is the Japanese design on the top. Most of these tables have some type of floral design or border....NEVER Japanese.
Secondly the colors are so very unique...a forest green background with lemon yellow artwork. Very unusual. Most enamel top tables that I have seen have a white background with either red, light blue, or yellow designs/borders.
Thirdly is the design of the supporting base. SUCH a unique shape & much more substantial than the more spindly, straight legs on the more common styles and/or the metal legs.
Japanese designs are not my style at all but I think this table is SO cool! The cream color paint on the base has been stripped by the previous owner & I am currently painting it a soft lemon yellow. I will post pictures once it is finished.
HAS ANYONE EVER SEEN A TABLE LIKE THIS WITH JAPANESE DESIGN INSTEAD OF FLORAL? HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK IT'S WORTH? I HAVE SEARCHED & SEARCHED TO FIND ANY MENTION OF THIS DESIGN ON AN ENAMEL TOP TABLE TO NO AVAIL. I EVEN EMAILED THE HOOSIER CONTACT. I EVEN RESEARCHED RESTAURANT TABLES. ANY INFO YOU HAVE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. :-) THANKS FOR READING! JESSICA
Hope someone can help you beautiful. Welcome to CW.

Great color and design!
Caperkid....thank you for telling me about appraisals being a "no go". I didn't realise that. Hope I don't get kicked off!
BOBBY725 & bucket head thank you for responding! Bobby725 I will check your table out. I think they are so interesting. So much prettier than the MDF tables of today. Have a great night all & thanks for the welcome! Jessica
Not worries it is a common mistake. Hopefully someone can help you Jessica.
