Hello CW friends!!
These are my Scottish Terrier (Fala) doorstops, or some may refer to these as bookends. They can bee used for either purpose though. These are believed to be from the 1940's.
The Fala name comes from when Franklin D. Roosevelt was president of the United States, he had a Scottish Terrier named Fala that he was very fond of. Some say that these were made in honor of Fala. But, I'm really not sure about that at all.
They're made of cast iron and their original paint has a very interesting texture, somewhat swirled appearance.
These guys measure 5 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide. They weigh approximately one pound each.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!

What little cuties! I remember reading about FDR's doggies. John Kennedy was also fond of dogs. Bill Clinton had Buddy, a chocolate lab as I recall. I don't trust people that don't like dogs. I've never owned one myself, always cats, but love on other people's doggies. Thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks Katherine!!!
Thank you Jenni for the love and for stopping in!!
