This is the first test meter I was able to get. It was old when I got it at a radio parts supply . It cost 2$ , it was used, when got it . It started me messing with electronics. 1944.
The supply house had much old outdated equipment and new supplies also for sale to radio shops.
His shop was" Olsen's Radio supply," in San Antonio. He was the only supplier who would sell me parts wholesale. It would only measure DC VOLTS AND OHMS, (resistance) which is all I needed at the time. It still is accurate , If one can extrapolate the meter reading,
I found I needed on of these very early in life, along with any battery tester.

Thank you for the comment. Those were the days when one could repair things.
Now when something breaks ,it is discarded. It may be that some day these landfills will be mined.

Long ago I had one similar to this. I finally went to a clamp amp meter as things progressed so I could do it all with one meter.
