I bought this lovely necklace recently. I believe it to be American. Any ideas from anybody? Marked Sterling on the bottom drop
Thank you in anticipation.

Really, really beautiful.
Thank you Gillian!
Have to agree with Gillian on this Kiwi, it is beautiful:-)
Oh yes what beautiful art and craft necklace, so well constructed and those stones are lovely, are they turquiose or could they be glass?
Love the leaves that are closing in the two pearls on the bottom. Also the silver surround that the stones are set in. Super work.
Can you post a photo of the back?
This one is tricky, but I'm leaning towards French, transitioning from Nouveau to Deco.
Firstly, I think the drop at the bottom is not original. It doesn't fit.
Also, I think the glass jewels & pearls are more likely to be European than American.
Like most countries you could buy jewellery from different firms via catalogues. Two of the best know firms who sold this way were Dumont & Arnould. This piece really reminds me of these types of jewels, particularly Dumont who is best known for his ginkgo leaf jewellery which usually has two Ginko leaves on either side of one of these wonky pearls.
Arnould made similar jewellery but that firm make a more diverse range of designs and often in silver-plate.
I'm not necessarily thinking it's by Dumont or Arnould, but I do think it's that type of jewel.
PS, here's another one for you - https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/482745714/exquisite-vintage-sterling-link-bracelet
Thank you Jewels1900, you are extremely knowledgeable, I had never heard of Dumond & Arnould. So I have learnt a lot!
It's just a guess. I love the Dumont pieces with the pearls & ginko leaves and it just reminds me of that. These pieces do come up, so it's possible that we can find some more info over time.
If you have a look at my old post with peacocks you'll see a
dumont ginkgo leaf bangle.
Yes, I see, and I also saw your stupendous collection of horn jewellery!! I have a few pieces but nothing as unusual as yours!
