    Any information appreciated, the wood seems to have a 'blackish' finish, is this ebonized? The painting is raised slightly in parts and has an oriental style, also looks possibly hand painted. No makers marks that i can see but it is well made and sturdy. Also a little on the large size 55cm wide and 45cm deep approx. Location north London.

      It could be a Georgian Chippendale elbow chair circa 1730.

      Thankyou for your comment. Yes it certainly has that feel about it, with several design points in common. I'm wondering if the painted parts maybe a 'red hearing' something added latter. Would you say they were Chinese or Japanese in style?
