I am going to say again that the Japanese made and make glass in styles that I have seen from nowhere else. Not constrained by any style paradigms they have been inventive, and weird, and exciting - and that's one reason I love Japanese glass. It sure doesn't suit everyone, I get that, but I am constantly amazed and delighted by what they create.
I ask you, who else would make a vase like this? I guess the spatter is not that off the wall, but adding the ribbon is a master stroke of quirkiness that delights me.
Labeled Kamei, I am almost certain this was made by Hokuyo Glass.
Height: 30cm Weight: 2.4kg
And you can revel in some proper green splatter, tied up in gift ribbon!
It's wonderfully quirky - the ribbon reminds me of ric - rac braid! And combined with spatter, it creates a rather psychadelic effect...
Absolutely, Peggy! This one is a bit easier to live with than my similar Hokuyo - http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/193075-polarise-the-people--glass-by-hokuyo?in=collection-3002
Beautiful vase Karen!! The ribbons are really wonderful!!
Thanks Iron Lace, psychedelic is the correct term lol. It brightens my day.
Scott I am glad you liked my ribbons! Thanks for the love and comment.
The ribbon is fantastic. It looks like a cross-section of igneous rock.
a forest.... intrincate colorful
Spatter with a Squiggly Swirl. Very cool.
Maybe I'm quirky, but I LOVE this piece!! I like the ribbon...it helped make the piece! I truly love this one...however, I did click on your other post and read what your significant other said about it and it just cracked me up...that one is so...um...oh my gosh..I have no clue if you were in love with it...but the only thing that comes to mind is it is so bizarre...it may become cute if I stared at it long enough (REMEMBER I'm referring to the other vase link you posted above...NOT this one you posted recently as I adore it!) ;)
Beautiful!
Gorgeous !!!!!!
Well said Ivonne. Thanks!
Thank you Sylvia and Dean, glad you like it.
Ha Karen, join the Quirk Club! I am pleased you like this one, not at all offended the other didn't make your grade. Many thanks.

Thanks Tahiti, what a compliment!
Glad you like my stuff!!
No space at all Rose, I have been considering getting the house reinforced with all this extra weight. This Japanese glass is BIG. In my searched online in Japan they call any vase under 20cm small! LOL!!
a truly special green colour
It’s a nice spatter I agree MF.
