Unique student desk. Seat different from any similar desk. Any ideas on the maker and era?
The brand looks like it is burned into the wood but is partially covered. I can make out Chair Co., New York. My searches on those words come up empty. I know that the Stickley brothers made some student desk chairs but there is no indication this is one of theirs.
I have had this for over 20 years. I bought it at a flea market in Georgia.

I believe you can rule out Stickley as the maker. I am older than this chair and he died before I was born. While this appears to be a school chair, I believe you will find it was mass produced for the government to use in various training center situations. My 2 cents are on deposit.

If you got it in GA, the schoolhouse is probably short, one chair.

I have done more research on it today and I believe it was manufactured by W.H. Gunlocke Chair Co. Looking closely at the makers mark, you can see the ke.

They do very good things, that they feed the students for free. I am sure that this will serve as an example for other schools and universities in the future. But there is a https://au.papersowl.com/buy-essay which exactly helps all students and you can find a lot of free help and buy essay for yourself. So if you follow the link, you can always learn more for yourself and your friends in terms of study. So I wish you success in school or university.

It is difficult to determine the exact maker and era of this desk without more information. However, based on the fact that it has a brand name partially burned into the wood, it is likely that it was made in the late 19th or early 20th century. Additionally, the fact that the brand name is from New York suggests that it may have been made in the Northeastern United States. As for the unique design of the seat, it is possible that the desk was custom made or that it was made by an unknown maker.
