This pitcher stands 6 1/2" tall and is crafted from a 1944 dated 40mm shell.
The engraving is top quality and exhibits fine details and expertise that is not usually found in WW2 era trench art.
The center portion is engraved with the Army Nurse Branch insignia. One side has an inscription and the other side has the locations of service.
I own three similar pitchers. One is from this Nurse's sister and the other is from a Red Cross employee. I have seen a couple others-- one with the Military Police insignia.
I believe that these were crafted in Switzerland by local jeweler who was supplying the post War souvenir demand.
