I bought this at a market a few weeks ago & just love it! There were a few faceted beads on it that didn't look right and the beads were strung in the wrong order so I restrung it on the same string, putting the beads in the right order. The clasp is faceted so probably isn't original to the smooth beads, but is is one with a concealed screw together clasp inside.
It is 31 inches long and the big bead at the front is approx 1 & 1/4 inches long.
I tested it with simichrome and there was no sign of bakelite so I think they might be faturan or similar. They didn't float in salt water but I don't know if I added enough salt, and they don't turn opaque under UV light.
It doesn't really matter to me as I love them no matter what they are made of and they are obviously very old and not the more recent moulded simulations of cherry amber.
Thank you Valentino97!
