When i was visiting my folks in NH a couple weeks ago, i went to see a friend who lives nearby. She showed me this painting - yes, it really is a painting, not a print - by Rockwell Kent. It's titled 'Starry Night' and is a very different perspective than Vangogh's Starry night. it's really beautiful! her father was very good friends with him and it is inscribed to him.
A treasure.
yes, boysfarm! it really is.
So, He painted this in a woodcut style ?
yes, i guess so. i saw the brushmarks on it. it's inscribed to my friends grandfather. apparently her great grandfather was the doctor who delivered Rockwell Kent when he was born and they grew up together. my friends grandfather was a very well-known industrialist.
Wow, this is great!!
thanks Tlynnie!
