I love this watch. Back in the late 1800's 67 Jackson St. San Francisco was a vibrant Portuguese district with many Jewelers. It was right on the bay and wind powered ships would land there and unload sailors who were ready to spend money on gifts, alcohol, and rumors have it Anna Silveira's brothel above her renowned Jewelry shop almost next door to Jose Franca's shop. Somehow this watch managed to stay in the area for over 120 years. Unfortunately, 67 Jackson St. is now, like most other things in SF, a Starbucks.

Thank you PW. Not the greatest movement grade. but the dial is superb and the private label is special to me.

JFranka, The dial is great and if you are from San Francisco I can understand the fondness of the private label.
I have a nice car clock in my car clock collection, that has a private label of, Shreve & Co. San Francisco. One time, when planning to be in San Francisco, I took it with me since the Shreve & Co. was still in business. When I spoke with one of the managers and took it out to show him, he replied, we're not interested in old items. I replied, I'm not here trying to sell you anything, such wanted to share with you some of the history of this company. I put it back in my case, left the store and vowed never to go back. I was very disappointed.
The clock can be seen here:

Yeah PW Shreve is still there, but i feel you on the experience. People have no connection to history anymore. To many people these days history is the tweet that happened 15minutes ago. Sad.

I was sad that Jackson st is totally changed now, but i could still hang out there and imagine what it was like.

there's an incredible antique jewelry shop a few blocks from Shreve I just cant recall the name now. Really high end historic jewelry and watches. Ill try to find it for you. Highly recommend you visit it if you're in SF again. The female proprietor is extremely knowledgeable and just a terrific person.

Took a look at your page and really enjoyed reading about your watches, especially the RR watches. Didn't see the Waltham 1883 that you mentioned in your collective pic of your collection. Did i miss it somehow?
