Does anyone know what kind of lantern this is? It is electric and has a blue side and gold/yellow side. Very heavy. Thanks for the info.

This is a class lamp off of a steam locomotive. The gold/yellow side is probably sun aged white. White would indicate the train movement was an extra move not on the scheduled timetable. Green would mean that there was a second section of the same train pull by another locomotive.

Also I volunteer at a railroad museum and if you would ever be interested of getting rid of this item let me know as I would use it on one of our steam engines.

What you have is a Gulf Mobile & Northern classification lamp off of a steam loco. This style was used widely on the D&RG RR but I never saw one marked for the GM&N Ry before. It's pretty rare as far as marker lights go. Nice piece!
