Acquired this True Vintage White Denim Hippie Jacket which was embroidered in 1970s from the original family. Her comment: "It's hard to remember details from over 40 years ago but my sister lived with us then and I think I taught her how to crochet with this jacket. She started a rose on the back but never finished it." I love the fact that this jacket shows the process and wasn't completed, yet fine detail embroidery was done during it's creation before the final graphic on the back was finished. The Lion on the back is magnificent...
Lol...Love it.
So I am I hippy then too ? As I have my Blue jean jacket posted that I did myself back in about 1975 or 1976. I did it with Liquid Embroidery paints that were popular back then. I did up the pattern from the Trooper Record, and then Iron-on the design on the back. It was ME HERE that then did all the coloring with the liquid embroidery paints.
You know what.....I still have the original pattern I did up to make it. Trooper was my favorite band back then since they were a Canadian Bank. So I guess my little old Blue jean Jacket qualifies as folk art Hippy stuff -- and it is Me that did it.
Also....My Blue jean jacket was NEVER washed as I was too afraid of the colors fading out on it...so that is why it is in like New condition.
Gee, I am a part of history.......LOL
