Stoecker Soda Water Co. was established in 1882 by a Fred Stoecker. In 1947 or 1948 Fred relocated and erected a new bottling plant at 120 Old Meramec Station Road in Manchester, Missouri. In 1959 the company is also called the Stoecker Double Cola Bottling Co. Dynamite Double Cola Bottling Co. acquires the assets of Stoecker in 1978 and relocates to Chesterfield, Missouri.
Pic #1 shows a 1923 Fred Stoecker bottle and a 1926 Stoecker bottle. No size mentioned on the bottles. I believe them to be 6 or 7 oz. each.
Pic #2 shows a 7 oz. & a 24 oz. bottles dating to the late 1930's or early 1940's.
Pic #3 shows a Howdy Soda bottled by Stoecker in 1928. Again a 6 or 7 oz. bottle. Size not mentioned.
Pic #4 shows 3 "Old Fashioned Lemon Soda" bottles, a 10 oz. flanked by two 7 oz. bottles. Dated 1949, 1956 & 1952 respectively.

Hey BottleBud do you have any information on the Pluto America Physic aqua water bottles. Regular pop top, with #4 on bottom.
Iggy, The Howdy is one of my favorites also. Hard to find version with the Stoecker name on it.
Caperkid, The only thing I know about Pluto Water is that it was bottled in French Lick Spring, Indiana and was claimed to be somewhat a cure all for all sorts of internal problems, mainly constipation. Not sure what the #4 represents. Any other numbers or symbols on the bottom. The ones that I have seen had a pic of a devil on the bottom.

Thanks for posting pictures of these beautiful bottles! Just a few questions...
Did Dynamite Double Cola acquire all of the Stoecker operation or just the Double Cola? I couldn't find much information on Dynamite. I was told that a Stoecker's employee bought up Stoecker's in the 1970s, but I believe he continued bottling at the Manchester factory.
The Howdy bottle is very interesting. Did Stoecker's have anything to do with the bottle design or recipe?

I found an article in the paper dated June 18, 1978, that stated that the Dynamite Double Cola Bottling Co.Inc. has acquired the assets of Stoecker Soda Water Co. also known as the Stoecker Double Cola Bottling Co. I also have an article that stated a Clifford Roseman ( or Rossman) purchased the company in 1972. Rossman was mentioned as the seller in the 1978 article.
Stoeckers bottled Howdy soda but was not involved in the design or recipe of the bottled soda. The Howdy Co. of St. Louis (later to be known as the Howdy/7 Up Co. and then simply the 7 Up Co.) was the franchise co. for Howdy. I have other Howdy bottles around the same time frame that are similar to the Stoecker bottle.
