My mother was married in 1948 and purchased this in the 1950's (I believe). I was born in 1954 and remember it at every Christmas and thanksgiving dinner. Does anyone know anything else about it?

I am going with 1930s as that is when this color glass was popular. I am fairly certain this is uranium glass and Uranium glass was banned in the 1940s through sometime in the 1950s. Possibly an heirloom or purchased second hand? It is hard to say for certain with this.
