I purchase this brooch a few years back...not sure what period she is from. The brooch has a pin on the back. I am not sure if this is gold. If anyone can tell what country it originated from.

Can't tell by your tiny fuzzy pix if the pin is marked -- and I am not a jewelry expert - someone else may be able to help in that department.

I can tell you it is a prtrait of Queen Louise of Prussia -- from a very often used image -- see many itmes with the same image pictured here:

      Read about her here:

Good luck finding out more about your pretty pin.

What good from MsDowAntiques to see which portret this is. The pixs are really to tiny and too unclear to get good information and after that to give more facts about the brooch. So please, try to get new pictures in a bigger format.

Thank you MsDowAntiques, for your observation and information. I will keep trying to get more info on the pin.

Ms. Dow is correct - the portrait is Queen Louise of Prussia (neice of Frederick the Great). Her portrait was used on mostly German-made items, so perhaps the brooch originated in Germany. The portrait, often in decal form, was used around 1880 - 1905.
