These Kitaichi pieces came together as a job lot, and they are well made, attractive, and usable glass items. All have been hand made and are contemporary.

The two vases in purple with blue case are a nice colour mix for a basic cylinder vase, and the blue case is a bit of a Kitaichi design cue. These would be pretty ordinary without it.

The wine glasses are lovely and I will use them! They have been acid etched to the mid point and then hand painted with enamel. I think they are so pretty, and it's good they are a different graphic.

The two blue bowls, possibly ashtrays, are pretty cool with their shading from bright blue to pale blue, and the use of pulegoso to do that.

The cranberry vase is so Kitaichi! It's all about the colour, the stem shape, and the lovely frilled and waved lip.

Kitaichi is a successful glass studio, even to the point of having a few outlet stores scattered throughout Japan. These items would likely have been sold at one.

All lovely, Karen. How interesting to get a taste of the range of a maker in one post! Wonderful job lot too ...... often it's one or two pieces you want and the rest for disposal.

Thanks Peggy. I agree there is a real range of styles here,Kitaichi seem to spread the love ! They were originally oil lamp makers and I think although they have updated their range they sill love a bit of frippery, like the frilly vase. And yes, some may move on.

Beautiful composition of different styles. The goblets reminds some of Meyr Neffe or Theresienthal ones.

Thanks Ivonne. You know so much! I knew of Theresienthal but had to look up Meyr Neffe. Wow, what glass that is!
