Title on photo is"BLOWING THEM OFF TO HIGH BALLS" Two girls guzzle beer... Girl to the right has her bare feet up on the ladder...Girl on left sits with knees askance draining her brew.. There is a Drum Major type guy but tooting a horn. He has one of those big feather or wool headresses an spiffy uniform. The background is a real town. The girls are just sitting in the foreground.
Postmarked in OHIO. 1908 with cancelled stamp.
    In light writing we see:
"Annette" is telling her married Aunt Mrs. Osmond:
"If Soul Kissing is anything like she described it to her; she thinks she won't like it"--and this message sent thru the mail for all to see.
The mailman must have delivered it red-faced...or, went in for a short visit!!

Bobby, hard to say which they prefer with a caption like, "blowing them off to the high balls"

Well.... what the hey.....why not? :)

The town is just a backdrop, and the guy blowing his horn is drawn, not real. No idea why the girls are there - or what they represent????

I wonder why the bugle guy is part of it. That is kinda strange and must have some meaning...I have no clue. Interesting that you can see the backdrop, my vision not doing well decerning depth
      Glad you could help Gillian.

I have to wonder if the whole idea is joke and people are bound to try to figure it out when the whole thing is a bogus joke. The amazing thing that in 1908 it was mailed ...it must have been a scandal in the day. On top of the racy message on the back!!. I guess I.will never end up with anything like this again. Ha. Ha!

I do notice these odd cards I have on, are of a lesser quality, than my other cards. For some reason, I have an inkling they are not made IN the USA--but FOR the USA market.
