I couldn't resist taking these pix yesterday as the P-51 Mustang on the pole just seemed to be screaming out to me! While this plane is the Carbon Fibre racing model, the older Fighters with the 1680 hp Merlin engines scream with a deafening sound that is like an orchestra at its crescendo. In the case of the P-51 it screams with a sound of "I demand FREEDOM from tyranny"! The Flying A Signs next to the fighter just seem to fit as well as the American sign. It seems that every Collection "needs"American and Flying A stuff.
We feel extremely fortunate to have found all the cool stuff we have for the Free Museum at Lakeside Storage. Situated next door to the Provo airport it's hard for planes landing and taking off not to spot the Collection as they pass by. We can't wait to add a few more signs we picked up on our last trip across the Country. America is beautiful!

      Buckethead,
Not sure what's happening to our people in America, I'm old and crippled now and in a wheelchair and it is very rare that anyone offers to help my 75 yr old wife put the wheel chair in the back of the car or take it out? Most of the time people don't even hold a door open for us in a rstaurant or hardware store? Who trained these people anyway? Sure does make me aware of disadvantaged people and I hope I never forget this experience. Too much entitlement doesn't seem to make us a grateful and helpful people. My wif cries when someone does finally step up and help! Amazing!

It's not that simple to blame entitlements . I'm on SS retirement which I earned after 40 years of work and owning my own business and I hold doors open for people. It's the parents of these people that didn't teach their kids common courtesy. Now these kids are adults and will teach their kids the same thing. I'm a grandfather and I'm teaching my grandkids the basic courtesy in this country. We need to pass these simple things on to the next generation. It's still our job to do this.

Unfortunately the younger generation 18-28 is being taught to believe SS is an entitlement. Sorry but when I hear that word it gets a response out of me. When I see attorneys advertised we can get your disability benefits approved just call us. That's just one example of gaming the system. Ok sorry this is not a forum. Delete this after you read it Rattletrap.

      Gulf 99,
Yep! U got the picture. Over 60% of Millenials polled were for Socialism as compared to Capitalism when Bernie was trying to get the Democratic bid to run for Pres. Very interesting what our kids/grandkids get taught in school as compared to what we were taught. P-51s and Porcelain signs make a forum for centering our lives on the great eras gone by.

      Bobby725,
Agreed. We deserve to get out what we pay in and resent others breaking the system by taking out what they did not pay in. Makes sense to me, but I'm old!

      Gulf99,
Just a thought: in a day when reading writing and arithmetic was taught along with helping old people across the street, it seems that was easier and made more sense. Now with higher taxes, more free benefits to non contributors and more expensive educations I find that my grandkids can't write cursive? They also can't calculate change in their heads because they expect the machine to tell them the answer. I liked the days of: " cars, porcelain signs, planes and BRAINS" as compared to much of what I see taking its place. Paper, plastic and disposable doesn't compare!
      I'll take Porcelain!

      Bobby725,
Thx for the well wishes. I feel like I'm getting better a little every day, but the not walking nor putting ANY weight on either foot/leg is getting old after 2 months in the chair. Of course my kids/grandkids laugh at me cruising around my collection in my "electric chair" and using "elevator blocks" to raise my body up to get in and out of my Bobcat so I can work. I figure crippled doesn't mean helpless so I just keep at it. Much to the amazement of those around me who think I should be sitting on a couch doing nothing! That won't be happening! I ve got signs to get up in the air and more to buy and pick up!!! Times a wastin!!!

Maybe these kids won't need to sign their named anymore. Making decisions about right and wrong can't be left to the computer. Kids need to execsize their brain daily in making basic decisions. If not taught these skills they will grow into adulthood without the tools we had in life. Computers and video games are used way to much by kids today. They rarely go outside and play make believe games with other kids. Im sure I sound old fashion but I'm concerned about this.

Sorry it's not my spelling it's the computer spelling for me. Should slow down and read before I hit send.

Ha! Try it with an IPad that has a mind of its own and substitutes whatever words it wants for mine! It's "the new world order" ! I'll stick with cars, planes and porcelain and laugh at myself as I use this new fancy stuff and cruise about in my elect chair.

That's my problem I'm using an iPad and I need to slow down.

Rattletrap. One word about our love for collecting. Over the years I've posted fake signs being sold on ebay. Now two years later it's epidemic and growing each year. These fake signs from India are flowing into the USA by the thousands. Oil and gas , Ford signs and coke to name a few. People are paying good money for these worthless non collectible signs. Once these people try to resale them then the problem occurs. Over time the collector market Might fall apart because people won't trust it. I only buy coke because I can verify fakes. Small porcelain oil and gas signs aren't easy to verify as real. What do we do as collectors ??? This makes me sick.

Life is getting more and more difficult as people become less honest in their dealings. Since no one makes 6' repro signs and that's what we collect, we don't have to deal with the bad guys as much, however I did get ripped off by a crook selling me signs he didn't own. Cost me $4500 to learn that lesson!
