    PostCardCo…
    (437 items)

Well--- Mr Wandering Hands!! What is her gentleman caller doing!! She invited him over to help her learn to play "The Oceana Roll"--and suddenly he rolled her over-- and into his arms,... and he indecently crushed her breast very boldly
The Nerve! And then he says "Will you practice this piece with me"? The message bottom of card
( Was sent thru the mail, one cent stamp to Miss Jennie Sampson
of Loda Illinois ( No message to her)
Real photo postcard posted 1907--Printed by the Douglas Postcard Co, Pliladelphia --
and upside down hidden initials of possibly the mysterious sender--E.M.
Well they were sexier minded than we think in 1907 in Montecello, Ill!! Maybe this was some excitement of the day==and for the mailman too?? Ha Ha!
Again I ask the question--were there no postal regulations regarding indecent greeting postcards back then?

    Maybe I am a "prude"??

I see that now!! Ha Ha. I will go edit. Thanks much.
My eyes are not seeing depth at all. I will be getting operations hopefully soon!! AZ. living and walking most of my life long distances without sunglasses and blue eyes really did a number on my poor eyes.

Its not indecent, he's tuning the old fashioned radio which is in her pocket.

I get the clue. and what kind a girl poses for a photo like this! ( she probably wouldn't give a care where that other hand might have been either,
      OOOPS!
Funny that the guy gives the name of the girl, and address and small town--but declines his own reveal. Tongues were wagging at the post office I will bet. Wonder if they told her family or if she runs to the mail box first!!

The dude is in uniform and from his hat on the piano top--he may be a clergyman!!

There were regulations back in the day on what could be sent, including the content of the messages. I remember reading something on it, where the postcard's content (including message on back) was skimmed over by the workers. They either threw out, scribbled out, or kept for themselves indecent content! LOL.
Of course, not every postcard was looked at. Others went through without issue.
Later on, when return addresses were requested, problematic pieces were sent back as they are today.

HEY! Live band, 1980s -- that song! Raised my spirits and I feel good!! Everybody--go listen. Ha Ha! I went to look see if I still had my hot pink lace up suede, ruffle top booties---and no, gone with all the good times. My boyfriend had a mullet I remember. That is a hair style!! This is the music we wanted! Thanks!

GeodeJem----If she had a radio in her pocket--it would never again work--look at that grip he has on her.

SpiritBear---So there was an attempt at quelling a controversial postcard ...
I think they should have pulled this one.Maybe the girl didn't know the photo was taken if it was quick. She might have been a victum.. Everybody and their Uncle were sending postcards--they were cheap, and a quick way to communicate. In early years there was both an A.M. and a P.M. delivery.
Tons of postcards must have been mailed hourly! What a staggering load.
It isn't surprising that maybe many indecent or suggestive cards slipped through. Once they got into the delivery mode, I don't think the postman had authority to extract them...if they did,... it was probably up to the individual handler's judgement, don't you think? and I also think, they mostly--delivered them.

I am glad because I am going to put what I have into their own category..Also strange messages , another category. Keep myself busy!--and giggling.

Hi Kyra!! This photo is really unusual, and now with a Clergyman doing the outrageous thing for a camera--has got me looking for more craziness,Maybe I could do a funny book, with bizarre old real photo postcards". I am glad you got a laugh out of this one too. Lois

I put on another card today, addressed to the same woman. She must have been a real firecracker!
    14. PostCardCollector PostCardCollector, 7 years ago
I will try to get some more on of the same type. Would it not be strange to find more addressed to that very same Ohio Woman!! Maybe she collected them, and her collection was distributed out to relatives all over, and now finding buyers and ending up on the internet. I will begin searching anew!!Plus I will have to take out all my own albums and see if I have more over the years,
