Yes that's my 75 yr old wife up on the side of the truck tying down the load before we take off again! Yes we look like Gypsies going down the highway with blankets and rags flapping in the wind! These pix are of us as we are returning from the Iowa Gas show in Aug 2017. Me being in a wheelchair required a lot of extra work for my great wife who never complained about all she had to do. I can't even put Fuel in the truck these days! Broken pelvis means no weight on either foot/leg for min 3 mos! That limitation doesn't stop a sign collector from chasing signs as you can see! It does require a lot of extra help from bystanders however. This is what a committed wife looks like in case you're wondering. We just need a couple of dozen more signs and we "might" be done. :):):)
You can't keep a good man down. This just proves behind every good man the is a great wife. I know because I have one and could not be where I am without her. Keep on picking. Those signs are amazing and surely will get you to 100 soon.
Coke1234,
Thx for the observation. This wonderful woman has tolerated me for 53 yrs and is the light of my life! We are at 101 signs in the air and should have another ready to stand tomorrow! Can't wait!

Thx for the love it. Few wives are willing to do this nonsence!
Valentino97,
To keep the record straight; my wife was never in the Collecting. She "tolerates" my collecting. Since my accident she goes with me and "supports" me in my collecting because I literally can't do anything without her help. Can't get in or out of a vehicle, bed, etc etc without help. Collecting signs dramatically increases my dependence. She's been a great sport about all of it since she has no interest in collecting herself. She has often suggested I should consider collecting Stamps or something more "practical". I insist that signs are very practical. Just not small or light.
Rattletrap.....I'm just the opposite because my wife got me into collecting. She came from a family that really enjoyed antique collecting. I would go along with her and be bored out of my mine. Then On my 30th birthday her mom gave me an old Green Texaco ( outlined in black) medium oil can with a spout . That right there got my attention and interest in collecting. Now we both enjoy searching for treasures and do it together. I will say the petroliana collecting has really grown over the past 40 years. I'm sure shows like the pickers have helped. Your collection is what got me hooked years ago? Your skill on erecting them is something else. There is just something about the old colorful signs and gas pumps that takes my mind off of today's crazy world and all. But I do still vote every chance I get.

Than,s for the comment. Glad to hear that u vote! Very very important in a Free Nation to vote! It gives us the RIGHT to complain about anything we want any time we want to, unless it's about something our wife does/did. I know lots of collectors who are joined with their spouses in the love of the hobby and it's awesome. Mine never complains but it isn't her thing so she just comes to be with me. We are headed out for a long 23 hr drive on Fri to go and buy a bunch of big signs that we hope u will see standing at Lakeside Storage in the weeks to come. Seems like all the signs that ar left are in the big oil producing States of years ago. Utah wasn't one of them. We love to be together & I love the hunt. It works for us
Wow long trip be safe and look forward to your new signs. It's alway fun seeing signs I never knew existed.
