Hello everyone!!
My cast iron Mr. Ratty and Peter Rabbit have now spent and entire winter, spring and summer outdoors and are aging quite nicely. You may recall that I had painted these last year and I think they're holding up quite well.
Out of all my cast iron pieces I have outside, these two fellows get the most comments. They're also my favorites as well.
These were cast by London Ornaments in England. Their castings are so incredibly well detailed.
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!
Scott
Beautiful Wabbits Scotty you have a no hunting sign up? Lol
Thanks Roy!! But, Mr. Ratty doesn't like to be referred to as a rabbit:) We don't worry about open season around here. My cast iron dogs keep these two fellows guarded quite well. Have a great weekend Roy!!
You're a kind ratty/waabbit dad! They really look happy outside :-))
Lol Scotty they look awesome. My apologies to Mr. Ratty.
Kyra,
Thanks!! They've never complained about being outside. So, I guess they must be happy:)
Roy,
Lol!! Mr. Ratty says there's no need to apologize, he's been called worse:)
I'd love to see a group photo of all your animals, taken out in the garden. How's about it, Scotty? :-))))
Bonnie,
That might take a bit of doing:) But, I'll definitely do it sometime in the near future. Thanks very much as always!!!!
Your collection never stops to amaze me Scotty!!
I especially love Mr. Ratty....
He would be perfect to stand next to my '40 Chev ratrod :)
Sure they aren't multiplying ?
They are quite the fine gentlemen. Hopefully they won't run into their arch enemy Farmer McGregor.
These are so great Scott, the look on their little faces makes me smile....so adorable :-)
Thanks Rob!! Yep, I love the kind of pets that don't whine to go outside and to be fed. I only have one of those.
Roddy,
Thank you so very much!! These fellows came to me unpainted and so I painted these about a year ago.
Thanks buckethead!!
One of my technicians built a ratrod last year and said the very same thing about Mr. Ratty.
BB2,
Lol!! No multiplying going on here:)
fortapache,
Thanks very much! My next door neighbor has a garden and he keeps live traps in his garden to catch the cottontail rabbits. These fellows haven't been caught yet:)
Judy,
Thank you so very much!! I like the way they appear to be conversing with one another. I've not been able to find these in the states. I actually got these from a seller in England, which is the only place I've seen them available.
Love Mr Ratty. He would definitely be a favourite.
Thank you WF!! I too love Mr. Ratty. He's quite the distinquished gentleman!!
Thomas,
Glad you like them. Thanks very much!

"I say my Rabbit dear chap, this Scott gentleman seems to have the very best of taste."
"Oh I agree Mr Ratty, although at times he does bring in some pesky dogs. They just don't suit my temperament or circumstance, although he seems quite enamoured."
These are absolutely adorable. So animated and full of personality! I just love, love them Mr J!
Thanks Gary!! I chose the colors carefully, so I'm glad you like them!
Karen,
That is exactly how I've always imagined these two fellows conversing with each other. After all, they are very English.
Thank you Sue!! They do get a lot of attention from guest.

SEASON’S GREETINGS, JSCOTTO !!!!
Thank you so very much Virginia!! And Merry Christmas to you!!
Thank you Kevin and a Very Merry Christmas to you as well!!
Adorbs! And Karen quite captured their personalities, very British and quite charming! I love all your garden creatures, Scott, thanks for sharing. :)
Thank you Katherine!! Both of these actually came from England. Cannot get these in the good ole USA. They came to me severely rusted. I cleaned all of the rust off and painted them both in December of 2016.
Wonderful paint job, and in time for the Royal wedding which you will surely enjoy viewing with them alongside. :)
Well, thank you so very much Katherine!! these actually took me a few days to paint. The hardest part was choosing the right colors for each of them. I decided at the very end to pin stripe Mr. Ratty's pants.
I LOVE these. They look like something out of the Wind in the Willows! How tall are they?
Thanks betweenthelens!! They are about 18" to 20" tall. They are made of cast iron and weigh quite a bit.
I can only imagine their heft! They're just wonderful.
Thank you so very much betweenthelens!!
Thanks very much Jenni for the love and for stopping by!!! Always appreciated!!!
vcal,
Many thanks for the love and for stopping by!!
