Although I can not definitively date your tool, I can perhaps help you narrow the age of your marking guage. In 1920, The Stanley Works, which had been using the SW heart logo for a few years, merged with the smaller Stanley Rule & Level Co. After exhausting existing stock, the new company began producing tools with their new "Sweetheart & notched Stanley rectangle" logo in 1922. The "Sweetheart" trademark began to disappear from Stanley tools between 1932 and 1934.
