Hello this is believe to be a Zulu Drum from 1879 the Battle of Isandlwana made from heavy brass with animal skin top with a beaded surround on the top in red/white/blue it is 16 inches in dia and 21 inches tall, the note that came with the drum reads 3 Army Collarvelar Drum Bellybard any help in identifying would be appreciated.
I have come to the conclusion that the drum has been push into the brass container for what ever reason so now is the debate on to remove it bearing in mind that its been in the brass container for over 100 years ?What do i do ? should i or should i not ? Well i have manage to remove drum from the container and wow how nice it looks ,its in great condition, so what do you think of it ?Is it Zulu or not I think it is and from 1879 what great find .
