I have had this card a long time, but just now noticed what I thought was writing at the top back of card.As my grandson just passed by I asked him if he could read any writing here. He said "illegal activities, NY." There is a bit more, but can't be deciphered--Maybe Italian.I can tell these guys are young, early 20s. I am thinking they robbed candy stores!!
What ever they did--they have money!! Really nicely dressed. Caps, shirts with ties, big overcoats and very fine shoes. I don't think they were tenement dwellers, and it does not look like were new arrivals to our country. Too spiffy! Interesting to wonder how these did so well at that young age.Maybe easier to see, enlarged. They don't look like brothers

That's a really fascinating postcard. I'd be willing to say that, what appears to be a chain, may just be a blemish on the photo.

I thought it was a ball & chain--but couldn't find the ball.
Can these be young mafia members?? Back of card says "Illegal Activies" N.Y. very faintly and stuff I cannot read.
