This is a brass lamp with a black middle. It seems that the black part has been put over the metal. On the bottom it is a brass plate and inside is a huge chuck of metal that must be used to hold the lamp down. The metal seems to be rusting. Thank you so much for your help with this! I can't figure out the time frame it was made.
