An original Christmas card from the USS Piedmont in 1944. The Piedmont's job was to repair warships in or near the battle areas during WWII. She was launched in 1942. Her mascot was "Doc" from "Snow White." The ship's print shop printed up these cards. This is what the note says: " It was dated: 11/27/1944.
"Dearest Mom, These were made up by our ship's print shop.
How do you like them? Sure wish we could all be sitting by the
little fireplace shown on Christmas Eve night. You can lay 10 - 1
that the next Christmas won't find me out here. Love to all,"
    Jack
