Since I have had inquiries about how you tell if you have a "Vernon Kilns" piece of pottery, I have posted these "markings." Whether it's stamped or hand-written, there will be a number on the bottom of the piece. These were copyright marks (either 1940 or 1941). Although some of the pieces are not marked at all.
Thank you Donna! Bob
You're welcome!
I'd like to add a little information about the Vernon Kilns Disney pieces for those collectors trying to duplicate Donna's success.
There are a total of 36 different figurines that were produced for the Fantasia line. They are not common by any means as they were only made for a short time. In mid-1942, production the Fantasia figures was transferred to American Pottery Company. Reportedly, all the Vernon Kilns figures were marked. There are also eight different Vernon figurines for Dumbo.
There are eight known shapes of vases and flower bowls that were made in a variety of colors as well as the occasionally found hand-colored piece.
Slightly easier to find, the Fantasia line dinnerware was sold open stock. There are fifty-one pieces in the line.
The numbers are Vernon catalog numbers - 121 is the goldfish bowl, 125 is the sprite bowl.
Thanks, artfoot, I'm glad you continued the history lesson with everyone. Thanks for the info!
