This heavy ceramic ashtray with beautiful purple glaze was made by HAEGER POTTERY and still has most of its original label intact.

It is about 9" across and has an interesting 'sloped' profile to its overall shape. On its inside it bears the ROTARY INTERNATIONAL gear logo, with "DISTRICT 646 MACOMB ILLINOIS 1962" on its underside along with the HAEGER trademark stamp.
My (likely belated) THANKS to Caperkid, fortapache, nsn300Z, racer4four, and SEAN68 for hitting that <love it> button! :-) :-) :-)
It is quite sad on the other hand, to report that the link given above no longer functions, presumably because the HAEGER POTTERY has now officially ceased business operations after a long and illustrious history.

Even if HAEGER isn't a widely known 'collectable' name (or are they now?) I will always hold a soft spot in my heart for their work, because their 'downstate' location in Macomb, IL was rather nearby my own hometown -- thus theirs has always been a 'familiar name' to me. In fact, there were always a few of their pieces somewhere hanging around Mom and Dad's house during my childhood -- including this very ashtray which was one of Dad's Rotary Club things.
