Can anyone help identify this 'tool'? Shaped like a military sword with a trigger mechanism of some purpose. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much. Also found references to Hay Sword and Hay Bayonet after using harpoon to search. They do not seem to be too common, glad I took a chance on it.
