I had a gentleman bring this swan into our shop for us to buy or sell for him. After some research I have found other carvings by this carver. It has some damage in the rt neck and back neck area. I can hear the pieces that fell in rattling inside, as it is hollow. It also has 4 or 5 gouges in the wood. My question is will this damage detract from its value alot. What would be my best option to find a new home for this swan. It is probably oak wood, Has a plastic or glass eye, probably plastic. It is 17 inches in length and 10 1/2 inches in height. J.W.Cooper is carved on the bottom with the word swan. thank You for any help. I did find out the cracks I see are shrinkage cracks from the wood drying out. I don't know if anything can be done about this as it may fill back in by itself.

I also have a carving by their artist of a flying seagull. It is really nicely done but I have not been able to find much information on the carver nor how collectible his works are. I have found one other piece and it was signed Jack W. Cooper. That’s about all I have found so far.
