For all you football (American) fans that are anticipating a winning season for your favorite team, I'm posting three "sports timers" manufactured by two "dollar watch" companies.
The one on the left is a PASTOR BASKETBALL FOOTBALL Timer manufactured by E. Ingraham in 1960.
The center one is a True Time Teller Foot Ball Timer, in an octagon case, manufactured by The New Haven Clock Co. in 1940. (this could also be soccer/foot ball).
The one on the right is, The New Haven Sports Timer & watch, with a football & basketball player on the dial, in an octagon case, manufactured in 1925, Patent Pending.
Good luck with your teams,
Dave

Just learned something here. I didn't know, back then, that you could get a stop watch with images on them of football and basketball players!
Signaholic, In the George Townsend book, "The Watch That Made The Dollar Famous" there is an advertisement shown from Kurzon Company, 333-335 W. Madison St., Chicago with the New Haven Sport Timer advertised as:
$2.50 Sport Timer
No.A229, White Dial, Octagon case, combination watch & stop watch. Each.....$1.63

Hey pw, gotta tell you this story. We were at Brimfield last week and I saw guess what? Yep, the New Haven Sports Timer watch! They wanted $100 bucks for it and it didn't work. I passed on it but thought what are the odds??
After all,, these were sold for a dollar back in the 1920s.
I probably would've bought it, if it had worked however.
Signaholic, nice story. I would have passed also.
