This watch was given to my father, by his mother and father, for his eighteenth birthday on April 9, 1912. It was from the jeweler Z.J. Pequignot on Chestnut street in Philadelphia. The watch is two inches inches in diameter. It is 14 karat gold and the cover is very soft. I understand more than one crystal was broken closing the cover, or bumping it while closed. It currently does not have a crystal. The watch appears to be in excellent condition visually. The movement has been overwound and the watch does not run. I believe the movement is by a company called Agassiz. The movement is "17 jewels adjusted".
My desire for this watch is to restore it to good running condition, cleaning, new crystal and anything else it may need. That said, I am looking for a reputable jeweler to do this work for me. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
