I am not sure of maker or yr. It measures approximately 31x17x12.5
I am always on the lookout for free things on side of road and I refurbish and keep or resale. My son found this on side of road and carried it home. It has clothlike interior I believe but looks like the tray is missing. Inside in great condition. i.e. no rips.

Can anyone perhaps Trunkman can tell me where would I find maker markings or info on this?

    Thanks you all.

    Teresa

Hi Treebee... sorry I missed your post. Normally the maker's label is on the interior usually on the lid. However the great majority of trunks don't carry makers labels and without them its difficult to know who made a trunk. This trunk looks like the right size to be designated a "steamer trunk", that could be placed in a cabin on board a ship. I would say the age is around 1910 -20's or thereabouts. Sometimes the hardware has stamped markings but normally that indicates who made the hardware but not the trunk itself. Nice to see the leather handles are still intact. The bumps on the top make me think this is a British made trunk as they made all metal ones similar to this. Really nice find... your son has a good eye! Hope this helps a bit...
