Antique hand crank western electric phone in oak case

Hi, today I was at my local thrift store and came across this antique western electric hand crank phone in oak case with a patent date of July 17, 1894 I was so excited. To have a finally found one of these at a price I could afford and to be in such good condition for its age as most of these have been getting or converted the earphone? is cracked/broken when I was at my thrift store there was no screwdriver to see the inner but the outside was in such good shape I bought for $50 witch I thought was a very good price Inwould love to know more about this Western electric handcrank phone as I know very little to nothing about this.
