This tool was bought in auction. It was in a carpenter's tool chest.
It's plainly for drilling small holes.
The handles are wood and he drill metal.
It measures 18.5" long.
I need a name and specific use and age of this item.

Known as an archimedian drill which could be used for light work or where a brace might not fit. Possibly 19th century or early 20th.
