This CDV was found in a CDV book with lots of just regular CDVs of no special interest. Is this man a bodybuilder or someone of similar occupation? Priced at $125, is there value to this?

Eugen Sandow In 1894, Sandow also appeared in a short Kinetoscope film that was part of the first commercial motion picture exhibition in history.

In April of that same year Sandow gave one of his "muscle display performances" at the 1894 California Mid-Winter International Exposition in Golden Gate Park at the "Vienna Prater" Theater.
While he was on tour in the United States, Sandow made a brief return to England to marry Blanche Brooks, a girl from Manchester. Soon, due to stress and ill health he returned permanently to recuperate.
He was soon back on his feet, and opened the first of his Institutes of Physical Culture, where he taught methods of exercise, dietary habits and weight training. His ideas on physical fitness were novel at the time and had a tremendous impact. The Sandow Institute was an early gymnasium that was open to the public for exercise. In 1898 he also founded a monthly periodical, originally titled Physical Culture and subsequently renamed Sandow's Magazine of Physical Culture that was dedicated to all aspects of physical culture. This was accompanied by a series of books published between 1897 and 1904 - the last of which coined the term 'bodybuilding' in the title (as "body-building" For more info--go over to Google anf type in" Sandow".
Need to photograph it out of the album (front and back) in order to evaluate it fully.
It looks a little too small (with bottom border of the albumen showing so high) and the color looks off.
It may just be trimmed (or pushed far into the top) or it may be a later addition to the album.

PostCardCollector, interesting, but I don't think this is him. This man does not sport a mustache, and his face looks different. Also, I'm guessing this photo is from the 1870s, but Sandow was born in 1867. Thanks for the fun story though!
Scottvez, you may be right about it being a later addition to the album. Many of the people in the album are identified, but he wasn't as I recall. Next time I go back, I'll see if I can remove it.
