My dad saved this from the dump about 15 years ago in Sedona, AZ. It was in shambles and he did his best to stuff the horse hair back into it and reassemble the best he could. It is a beautiful and heavy piece. We don't know too much more about it. There are flat crude nails around the back of the body that hold the upholstery onto the frame. The grapes at the top appear to be carved directly into that segment of wood but hard to tell for certain. I just love this piece and it is a wonderful conversation starter. It sits proudly in our living room corner with a fun antique print on the wall above it.
Approx 4.5 ft wide, 2.5 ft deep and 3.5 ft high (I used a ruler so not perfect on my dimensions)
Upholstery seems to me to be like a crushed velvet in a light blue color
I am guessing this is a French piece from 18th century but not certain- if you are familiar with this design and would like to share I would love to hear from you!
