This says 'Tafel LXXVI Renaissance No. 3 Design Pl. LXXV' on the top. i think it's a chromolithograph. it's 13" x 9". i'd love some more info. am going to look for a good frame for it. any idea of the date or name of the original publication? or anything?
Here is same informayion: http://www.rare-posters.com/gr71.html
You know, that as it looks (the designs and the white around them) would look great for a feel of antiquarian and modern in a home.
thank you mp.kunst! you solved it. here's what it says:
Renaissance No. 3
Date: 1868
Source: "The Grammar of Ornament" by Owen Jones, published by Bernard Quartich in London, England
Size: Sheet 9"x13"
Comments: Original chromolithograph plate from the famed "The Grammar of Ornament" by Owen Jones. This remarkable work compiled the art of design through world cultures and history, and has served as a great resource for artists of many fields. These prints are superb examples of 19th Century color lithography. The richness of their color is only hinted by the photo. This printing process cannnot be reproduced by modern methods.
thanks SpiritBear! i agree.
