Picked this couple up at an estate sale and have never been able to find anything similar. They are handcarved wood with cloth clothes and strawlike hair. They stand on a round cork-like pedestal. Each measures 9 1/2 " tall. I believe they orginated in Singapore. Any ideas of maker?
