- Historic Edgewater Beach Hotel wool blanket -
Chicago's storied Edgewater Beach Hotel began to operate circa 1916 and closed in 1967. This is a very large wool blanket that I imagine was used in hotel rooms. I've attempted to display photos to make it easier to ID the date made based on how it was manufactured.
The text is dyed and the blanket is a nice sea-foam green which doesn't show well in photos. Given the material, dying, design, etc. I'd imagine this blanket was manufactured and used in the hotel earlier on in its history but I'm not sure.
If you're able to glean when this blanket would have been manufactured for the hotel based on these photos, I'd be very appreciative :)
