    there has to be a story about this piece. maybe something to do w/ UC Berkeley - the bear being the mascot there. the brush seems to be way too coarse and not of the right material for a shaving brush. what do you think it was for?

      concensus on fb is that this is a Black Forest Hat or Suit brush. makes sense to me.
