This set was the 1st commemorative stamps issued anywhere in the world. It is a classic. I have collected up to the 50 cent stamp. The higher Dollar value stamps cost hundreds of Dollars.

The stamps were issued for the 1892 Chicago World's fair and the 400th anniversary of the landing of Chris Columbus.

Why are there two in the top centre spot?

SpiritBear There are two varieties of the 2 cent stamp. A regular one and one where there is a split in Columbus's hat. We stamp collectors can be really anal/OCD LOL
