One more that's just "always been" in Mom and Dad's house. (until now, when its in mine...) ;-) I don't remember where Mom got it, but do vaguely remember 'helping' her polish it up when a child -- ever since it was always mounted to the wall somewhere in the kitchen to (usually) hold coupons or somesuch.
Made of copper about 5" long overall, embossed with a nice scroll design and the words "CARDS" and "PAT. JAN. 1894". Nothing on its backside. Presuming it might have originally been meant to mount outside one's door, to hold mail to/from the Postman.
Can anybody tell me anything more about it?? <please><beg><smile>
Well, it's sure different ! LOL
Perhaps for cards of sympathy at a funeral parlor.
