I'm sure that this type of glazing has a name, but i can't think of it right now. maybe someone can help me. i think it has some authentic age to it. some of the glaze on the birds has worn off or wasn't fired right. still it's a pretty piece. it stands 6.5 inches tall. kind of looks Persian - w/ the leaves. maybe made for that market?
i think that this is a piece of Gosu-aka pottery. i was told on the Chinese pottery fb page that this is probably 18th century. i'm looking for some more feedback on it.
cancel that last thought. i think that this is a genuine Ming period vase - 17th century. at last that's what i've been told at the Chinese Ming Ceramics (and beyond) FB site.
thanks rene. i've always liked it enough to keep it out of my storage.
apostata? what do you think?
